Good gutters carry water away from your roof, siding and foundation, which matters a lot in a Minnesota spring.
We can handle gutters on their own or as part of a new roof or siding job, so everything fits and drains the way it should.
Seamless gutter installation
Seamless gutters are formed from one continuous piece for each run of your roofline, so there are no joints along the length to leak or catch debris. They're measured and fit to your home, with seams only at the corners and downspouts. We size the gutters and downspouts for your roof area and pitch, set the slope so water drains toward the outlets, and fasten them securely to the fascia so they hold up under snow and ice.
We install 5-inch and 6-inch K-style seamless gutters (K5 and K6), and we provide box gutters and custom gutters for commercial buildings. Gutter brands we install include Edco and Norandex.
Gutter guards
Gutter guards keep leaves, seeds and pine needles out of the gutter so water can flow freely, which means less cleaning and fewer overflows. They're especially helpful under trees. We'll explain the types available, help you choose one that suits your trees and roofline, and install it so it doesn't interfere with your shingles. Gutter guard brands we install include Bulldog, LeafFree and LeafBlaster Pro.
Downspouts and drainage
A gutter is only as good as where it sends the water. Water dumped at the corner of a house can soak the foundation, flood a window well or wash out landscaping. We place downspouts where they'll do the most good, add extensions so water drains away from the house, and look for low spots where water collects. If you're finishing a basement, this is worth doing first.
Gutter repair and cleaning
Sagging, leaking or overflowing gutters can often be fixed. We reseal leaking corners and end caps, re-hang loose sections, correct the slope, replace dented pieces after hail, and clear clogged gutters and downspouts. We offer roof and gutter cleaning, too. If the fascia behind the gutter is soft or rotted, we repair it so the new gutter has something solid to hold on to; see soffit and fascia.
What customers say
“Excellent company. We recently had gutters put up on our house and couldn’t be happier with the results. Will be using them for more future projects!”Matthew J.
Gutters with a new roof or siding
Replacing a roof or siding is a good time to replace old gutters, too. The drip edge, fascia and gutter work together, and doing them at the same time means one crew is responsible for how they fit and drain. After hail storms, dented gutters and downspouts are often part of the same storm damage repair as the roof. Our hail storm checklist lists what to check first.
Gutters and ice dams
Gutters don't cause ice dams, and gutter guards won't stop them. Ice dams come from heat escaping into the attic and melting snow on the roof. What gutters can do is make things worse when they're clogged or pitched wrong, because water backs up and freezes. Clean, well-sloped gutters help, and the real fix is in the attic. Our guide to ice dams in Minnesota explains more.
Frequently asked questions
Are seamless gutters worth it?
For most homes, yes. Fewer joints mean fewer places to leak, and a custom fit to your roofline looks cleaner. They also tend to need less upkeep than sectional gutters.
Do gutter guards stop ice dams?
No. Ice dams are caused by heat escaping into the attic. Gutter guards keep debris out so water drains, but stopping ice dams takes air sealing, insulation and ventilation.
How long does gutter installation take?
Most homes take about a day once materials are ready. Bigger homes or jobs that include fascia repair can take longer, and we'll give you a timeline with your estimate.
Can you match my trim color?
We'll show you the available gutter colors and help you pick the closest match to your trim or siding.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Usually at least once in spring and once in fall, and more often under trees. Gutter guards can stretch that out a lot.
